Thanks! Yes, I’m happy to improvise in lots of things but I generally need to stay closer to the recipe/directions the first time or two I try something unfamiliar, just to be sure I get what’s going on and where adjustments could be made. But yeah, cooking is a creative art and I love trying new things!
Pyrex is a good idea, though my four-Dutch-oven process worked out great!
