Maybe We’ll Have a Wedding Album by Our Fifth Anniversary

Look how happy we were! And what a pretty picture! (Don’t mind my farmer’s tan. Just look at my husband’s grin.)

What a lovely wedding album all these photos will make!

Too bad I haven’t gotten my act together to make one…four and a half years into our marriage.

I had the best of intentions. I ordered prints of my favorite photos right away. I even thought I’d make a cool scrapbook, using the binder our minister had for the program and notes she’d written, and our vows.

I collected the photos, along with napkins, and cards people sent us, and CDs with more photos on them, and ribbon, and flower petals, and anything else that could be scrapbooked. I ordered sleeves and dividers and little three-hole-punched zip-up pockets for loose items.

And then…four and a half years later, I still have that whole pile, and no wedding album.

Perhaps it’s “third wedding syndrome”? Like with children, how the first kid gets a thoroughly filled-out baby book, complete with lengthy narratives about every…
