I love this. I am more like your husband, though at times even I find it strange when I’m doing it. “I’m going to the bathroom now!” (right…and he needs to know this WHY?) And half the time, MY husband isn’t quite listening when I tell him all my little departures and plans, then gets confused when he can’t find me.

I briefly lived with a boyfriend many years ago who was more like you. There was a moment when he just…wasn’t in the house, anywhere. When he got back and I asked him about it, he said, “But I told you I was going to the store.” “Yes,” I said, “an hour or more before you left. You didn’t say goodbye! I didn’t know you’d left!” He was baffled. He’d TOLD me the store was on his agenda; when he wasn’t in the house, wasn’t it OBVIOUS where he’d gone?
