I’m not Elizabeth Taylor or anything, but I have been married a time or two.

Well, three, if I’m honest. I’m on my third marriage, and really, that’s plenty. I don’t want to look greedy.

I always did want to be a bridesmaid, though.

I didn’t have a whole lot of female friends when I was younger. I tended to always have one best friend, though more than one of those friendships turned out to be problematic, sooner or later.

There were always a lot of guys in my life. I was as boy-crazy as any teenage girl, of course, but I also had guy friends with no romance involved. By the time of my third wedding, I just went ahead and had male attendants, including my two brothers, and my pal Chaz as my Best Person.

Because guess what? It turns out that there’s no rule about it! You can do whatever you want, have whatever loved ones you like standing up with you! You can have your dad and your stepdad walk you down the aisle! You don’t even need to have the same number of attendants as your groom does. Who knew?!?
